🎨 Creativity in Full Swing: Fall Art Electives at Exodus Academy

We’re officially in full swing for the school year, and the excitement buzzing through our classrooms is contagious! One of the brightest spots right now is Art Class, where our students are diving into all things fall — creativity, color, and plenty of pumpkins.
Over the past few weeks, our budding artists have been learning the basics of sketching, outlining, and watercolor techniques. The project that’s captured everyone’s attention? Pumpkin portraits!Each student begins by carefully drawing their pumpkin, outlining it with Elmer’s glue to give it texture and dimension. Once the glue dries, the magic happens — watercolor paints bring each design to life, filling our art tables with vibrant oranges, golds, and deep autumn hues.
What makes this project so special isn’t just the end result — it’s the process. Art class gives our kids a chance to express themselves freely, explore color and movement, and realize that creativity doesn’t always fit inside the lines. Some are experimenting with abstract backgrounds, others with shadowing and detail — and every single piece tells a different story.
At Exodus Academy, our electives aren’t “extra” — they’re essential. We believe creativity fuels confidence, problem-solving, and joy. Whether it’s art, music, or hands-on learning, each elective gives our students a chance to discover their unique God-given gifts and bring something beautiful into the world.
Watching their faces light up as their pumpkins take shape has reminded us just how powerful it is to make space for imagination in education.
